About Philadelphia Transit
Our Mission, Purpose, and Community Impact
Philadelphia Transit was established in 2020 to address the transportation need identified through our experience operating New Beginnings Adult Day Care in Philadelphia, MS, and surrounding rural areas. Recognizing a significant gap, we assembled a dedicated board to assist with the application process for the 5311 Rural Grant. After securing the grant, the following individuals assumed leadership roles:
Michelle McCool-President
Shanda Hillman-Treasurer
Dawn Goodwin-Secretary
Andrea Mitchell-Project Director

All of these individual board members work together to achieve our mission.
Our mission is to provide quality transportation services to individuals in our service area that do not have accessibility to transportation services, in order to provide access to community resources including medical services, gainful employment services, and/or need-based services where access to the community is necessary.

Our Purpose is to increase access to transportation services within our local communities for underserved individuals in need of transportation services.

Our Target Population includes but not be limited to the following: elderly and disabled participants as well individuals not being served by another agency or program. Service counties include: Kemper, Lauderdale, Neshoba, Newton, Scott, Clarke, Leake and Winston Counties.
